Bijan led a class of students through a four month long course at the University of Southern California. He worked with youth artists to explore topics of diversity, equality, social practice, and art as activism. The class culminated in an exhibition celebrating the legacy of exemplary African American creatives and community leaders.
Four commemorative posters were unveiled at the California African American Museum reflecting the collective theme of social justice and change. The four art posters titled “We are Change,”
“We are Equal,” “Learn Love” and “Art+Growth”, reflect on current social issues and feature prominent public figures leading the fight to address them.
The goal of the project was to have the youth artists reflect and focus their art pieces on events occurring in their own communities and personal experiences, as well as interviewing people of various backgrounds around the USC community to gain a different perspective.
